Day 2 - Snow and rinks

After what seemed a very short sleep, breakfast was had and we had to hand the kit bags over to kit management team who would be transporting the bags around between rinks for us for our games.

Once the bags were on there way it was time for the short drive to the Videotron where we would catch up with the players that were being brought to the rink by their billet families. When we arrived at the rink it became very clear just how large the tournament is and what we had to look forward to as we knew that in a days time we would be playing in the Videotron rink which is a 17 thousand seat arena.

With registration done it was time to take the team for lunch and prepare them for the first exhibition game. The team got on the team bus and we headed out to the Wendake rink driving through a very snowy Quebec. Once there it was photo time before heading in and preparing the team for their first game

It was a tough game against a very strong team and whilst only going down a goal a period for the first two periods it was the 3rd period that saw the most goals and the team end up losing 6 : 1.

Once we had handed the kits back to the bag management team, it was time to send the players off with the billet families and for the coaches and management to settle down for a quiet evening ahead of our first big tournament game in the morning.

A snowy evening in Quebec!
