Countdown to Quebec 2019

Updated: Feb 16, 2019

After almost a year of planning and preparation we are now just under 2 weeks away from attending the Quebec International Pee-Wee Ice Hockey Tournament. This tournament, which celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year is one of the largest junior ice hockey tournaments in the world and see teams from all over the world attend. For teams outside of America and Canada normally only one international place is allocated to each country that wants to attend, so being selected to attend this year is a huge privilege for the Guildford U13 team and GJIHC.

The challenges of attending

The planning to attend an event of this size is immense, to take a team of 18 players plus coaches, team management, associated parents (plus a few siblings) and a mountain of kit from the UK to Quebec for 10 days and back again is a true challenge and at times has been very daunting, but we are now less than a week away and the excitement is building. Our fundraising is now complete which has enabled us to help all the players attending and to be able to provide them what hopefully will be an experience of a life time.

Attending the tournament

We will be using this blog to record our attendance at the tournament, to give everyone an insight in to what it means to a junior player, the memories that they will have and also for the parents that have taken the trip with us.
